    Zhao Wei sued for ‘spiritual damage’

    Chinese actress Zhao Wei has been slapped* with a lawsuit from a TV viewer amid allegations* that her intense stare on the new show “Tiger Mom” caused the man “spiritual damage.”

    The program, locally known as “Huma Maoba,” debuted in May and follows the lives of two parents with differing approaches to raising their daughter.

    Zhao plays the stern mother, but the star’s performance appears to have offended one Shanghai viewer who has taken his complaint to Shanghai Pudong New District Court.

    FIFA film flops at the box office

    A film about the history of FIFA has flopped* in the United States, taking just US$607 in its opening weekend.

    “United Passions” was funded by about US$26 million of FIFA cash, and was completed before corruption charges were made against 14 of its officials in May.

    Starring Tim Roth as Sepp Blatter, the hagiography of soccer’s governing body has received damning reviews.

    Sweden’s prince marries ex-model

    Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip married former model and reality TV star Sofia Hellqvist in the chapel* of the royal palace in Stockholm on Saturday.

    The 36-year-old prince, third in line to the throne, was nervous during the ceremony, which was attended by royals from around the world.

    Hellqvist, 30, wore a dress by Swedish designer Ida Sjostedt.

    Benedict Cumberbatch a dad

    Benedict Cumberbatch has become a father.

    The “Sherlock” star’s rep confirmed in a statement to People on Saturday that he and his wife, Sophie Hunter, have welcomed their first child. “Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son,” said the rep. “We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.”
