Log in to your bank account using emoji
    2015-06-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Pictures of burgers, dragons and even smiling poos could replace numerical* banking passwords in the near future.

Colorful emoji would make online banking more secure because they will stop hackers from identifying common pin numbers, such as birthdays, one company claims.

The cute characters are also easier for customers to remember than traditional numerical passwords, Intelligent Environments says.

The emoji passcode will enable to customers to log into their banking app using four emoji characters from a bank of 44, instead of traditional pins or passwords.

Surprisingly this makes it more mathematically* secure than numerical passwords because there are 480 times more variations using emojis over traditional four digit pins.

Unlike with text messages, users’ most frequently-used emoji won’t be stored, because they will type on a specially-designed keypad, meaning that hackers won’t be able to guess passwords from a user’s history either.

The pictorial passwords are expected to launch by the end of this year.(SD-Agencies)
