    Actress rescues boy

    Chinese actress Fan Bingbing garnered* praise from netizens for helping a boy hurt in a road accident to the hospital.

    Fan was in the middle of filming the Chinese variety show “Challengers Union” on June 15 when she witnessed a road accident that left a 5-year-old boy injured in his mouth.

    The actress drove the boy to a nearby hospital for treatment. She also gave the boy’s aunt 300 yuan to help pay for his examination.

    

    Madonna makes new video

    Madonna has brought out some pop stars and two of her children in a new video she released on June 17.

    Beyonce, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Kanye West all make cameo appearances* in the video for “Bitch, I’m Madonna,” off her latest album “Rebel Heart.”

    Madonna released the video initially on Tidal.

    

    Actor diagnosed with cancer

    British actor John Hurt has been diagnosed with pancreatic* cancer.

    The 75-year-old, who was Oscar-nominated for his role in 1980’s “The Elephant Man,” said he would continue working despite the diagnosis.

    “I am undergoing treatment and am more than optimistic about a satisfactory outcome, as indeed is the medical team,” he said.

    Hurt starred as the War Doctor in “Doctor Who” in 2013.

    

    Lady Gaga honored

    Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Stephen Colbert and Van Morrison were among the featured singers and speakers on June 18 at the 46th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony.

    Morrison and Lady Gaga picked up honorary prizes while awards also were presented to Nate Ruess and the former CEO of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), John LoFrumento.(SD-Agencies)
