The popular Chinese children’s tale “The Adventures of Shuke and Beita” is becoming a film. Zheng Yuanjie, author of the hit children’s books, confirmed the news. Shuke and Beita are two mice who don’t want to steal food like the other mice. The two good friends then co-found Shuke and Beita Airlines to help other animals. The fairy tale was already turned into a 13-episode animated series in 1989. The series and the story greatly influenced Chinese children in the 1990s. Some other works by Zheng, hailed as the “King of Chinese Fairy Tales,” have also been made into animations and TV series. (SD-Agencies) |
