Taiwan culture and food carnival in full swing
    2015-11-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

IF you ever visit Taiwan, the top of your checklist must be to visit a night market. For foodies, Taiwan is a paradise of foods and night markets are an integral part of Taiwan’s food culture.

A 10-day Taiwan culture and food carnival opened at Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park on Nov. 6. There are more than 150 stalls displaying traditional foods originating from Taiwan’s renowned night markets, such as Tainan Flowers Night Market, Kaohsiung Liuohe Tourist Night Market and Taichung Fengjia Night Market.

Local residents can seize the chance to taste foods such as Taiwanese hot dogs (a small sausage inside a large sausage), oyster omelets, milkfish balls, danzai noodles, pepper pies and nine-layer cakes.

The Taiwan Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, the Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, the Market and Quality Supervision Commission of Shenzhen Municipality and Shenzhen Press Group organized the carnival. (Zhang Xiaoyi)
