    September 14 was our first military training as senior high school students. However, it was my third time taking part at the Guangming Base. At first, I felt happy and nervous because it was not only the first time but also the last time to have military training.

    When I went there, I found that a few new buildings had been built. I met many drillmasters that I knew because I had been trained there before. Then our drillmasters ordered us to go to our dorms. A drillmaster also taught us how to make our beds and keep our rooms clean. During the day, we got on well with each other.

    While we were training, the weather was very hot. Most students were afraid of the strong sunlight, but we had to learn to be soldiers who can bear any hardship. From Monday to Wednesday, we practiced hard drills. The sun was shining on us and made us very tired and bored.

    The drillmaster was serious, and he was strict with us. We had to acquiesce to his demands. Because of my hard work, I became a “model” in my class. For this, I felt very happy but also nervous. I thought, “I will do better and better.” During the military training, I went to the grocery shop only one time. On Friday, all the classes in the grade took part in the graduation ceremony and each class gave a presentation. Our class did our best to finish all the drills, and we felt very happy.

    By the end of the military training, my face was more tanned than before. When I got the certificate for my training, I thought of the motto, “Gold shines everywhere, and everyone can be gold when he or she believes it.” Therefore, when we are in trouble, we shouldn’t give up easily. We should face difficulties and hardships with courage and try our best to make our life successful.
