A PRIVATE collection of antique Chinese children’s furniture on display at a furniture exhibition at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center earlier this year provided a glimpse at how Chinese people raised their babies and toddlers without modern equipment such as baby strollers and cribs. The furniture often resembles the basic structures of modern furniture for young children. Some of the furniture in the exhibit dated back to the Ming Dynasty but were well preserved. They were collected by a local furniture manufacturer. (SD News) |
