Love and warmth for autistic children

Cold weather hit Shenzhen last week, but a group of volunteers brought love and warmth to the city’s autistic children last Wednesday.

Employees from an autistic intervention center in Nanshan District and a local hotel spent time with a group of autistic children at the center. The employees painted pictures with the children, among other activities.

With the guidance and instruction from the volunteers, the children painted pictures brought by the organizers. A staff member from the intervention center said that painting helps autistic children express their inner worlds because many autistic children cannot express themselves verbally.

After the art session, the hotel prepared a Chinese-style afternoon tea for the children at the intervention center. Delicious food and pastries were delivered from the hotel to the children, making the kids feel warm and happy on a cold day.
