SUNDAY witnessed icy rain in Shenzhen for the first time in the city’s history. The cold air also brought the temperature down to a chilly 1.7 degrees Celsius, the lowest since the founding of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in 1980. The lowest temperature Wutong Mountain saw was minus 3.8 degrees Celsius. In spite of the unusual cold, life continued.
