THE English edition of “The Three-Body Problem” by Liu Cixin has sold more than 110,000 copies worldwide since its debut over a year ago. The figure was released by the book’s English copyright holder last week. The first part of the “Three-Body” trilogy, translated into English by Chinese-American writer Ken Liu, won the 2015 Hugo Award for Best Novel and has made more than US$2 million. The other two books are “The Dark Forest” and “Death’s End.” The trilogy depicts the story of an alien invasion of Earth. The first book, “The Three-Body Problem,” centers on a secret military project that enables humans to establish contact with the aliens who teeter on the edge of extinction. The trilogy has sold more than 1 million copies in China. Liu was the first Asian writer to win the Hugo Award, generally considered the highest honor for sci-fi works.(Xinhua) |
