Top street artists revealed
    2016-03-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FUTIAN District recently selected the top 10 street artists in the city.

Among the list are five visual artists, three creative craft artists and two performing artists.

The artists are painters, calligraphers, sculptors and erhu players.

Another four artists were voted as the most valuable street artists, including three artists and one singer.

The artists were elected from 68 groups of licensed street artists. They have been performing on the book city square for the past seven months.

The judging panel, which was organized by the Futian District Performance Association, selected their top 10 artists based on the artists’ skills, imagination and daily performances. Other licensed artists also voted for their top 10 favorite artists.

Based on the combined results, the organizer selected 20 artists who had obtained the most votes. The final results were voted by the public via WeChat.

The event was to showcase various performance types such as cosplay, graffiti art and flash mobs. As the first of its kind, the event is expected to become a popular way to promote street art across the city.(Wang Yuanyuan)
