Easy ways to have the best day ever

    HAVING to set an alarm every day to wake up early is an awful feeling. No one likes waking up. Then there is the stress of getting ready and before you know it, lunch time is here and clock watching is your only job.

    What if you could wake up in the morning and be ready to take the day on head first? Well, it takes just 10 simple steps. Wake up, and be awesome!

    Get ready the night before

    The first way to becoming a morning person and ensuring you have an amazing day is getting ready the night before. Start by making your lunch before going to sleep, it saves you worrying the next. Have an outfit planned too, weather dependent it could change in the morning but at least if you wake up late you will not be stressed out. Keep your bags ready to go, filled with a snack for the day and all your belongings. Make sure you will not forget anything.

    Set your alarm slightly earlier

    One thing that might destroy you inside but will benefit you in the end is setting your alarm 15 minutes earlier. This is because you have more time to get up gradually. Your body also starts to realize that it needs to wake up eventually and get ready for the day. Try not to hit snooze because it makes matters worse.

    Try and stay off your phone

    We are all guilty of getting up, then going straight on our phones, then two minutes turns into 20 and then it is rush, rush! Avoid going on your phone apart from turning your alarm off. Ignore the notifications. They can be read afterwards. As soon as your eyes hit the screen you get distracted and will start to feel tired again.

    Have a glass of water

    As soon as your head lifts off the pillow, take a gulp of water. Your body is dehydrated after 6+ hours of sleep. Instead of going on your phone, do some quick exercise, not a full workout — unless you’re feeling brave. More of a quick walk around the room or some light stretching. The blood starts flowing through your body and gives you a boost of quick energy.

    Read a motivational quote

    A good quote never does any harm to anyone. Reading a motivational quote in the morning gives you something to strive for when you wake up. If quotes are not your thing, then fill in a journal with things you’re looking forward to in the day. A positive mind is the basis for a great day.

    Listen to some music

    Listen to something that is going to get you up ready for the day. Create a morning playlist full of songs to get you dancing around. A bit of a throwback playlist is always a good idea, which will give your body a chance to wake up and your brain something positive.

    Write a list of things to do

    When you get to work/school or even if you are home for the day, write a list of tasks to do. Put the most important one at the top in red so that you know that you have to get it done ASAP. You’ll have something to come back to and cross off — it is the best feeling in the world.

    Eat breakfast

    There is no denying that the best way to feel and look good for the entire day is by eating your breakfast. No matter how cliche it sounds, it is the most important meal of the day. If you are a coffee lover, have one immediately or on your commute. This will energize your brain and start to work the nervous system. Just eat something, a breakfast bar or even a piece of fruit. Your body needs food to keep it going and a hungry stomach puts you in the worse mood.

    Be positive

    If you are wanting every day to be a good day and one that you enjoy, then make it a positive one. Do not think of all the things that went wrong yesterday or all the things you need to get done but haven’t got enough time for. The thought will stress you out even more. Focus on the amazing things that might happen or are going to happen. For one negative thing, think of three positive outcomes.

    Remember to smile

    The last way to have the best day ever is remembering to smile. No matter how tired you are or how long the day feels like, smiling and laughing will help you get through all the stress. If you are having one of those downer days then just fake it, soon enough it will turn into a smile worth keeping.
