Baby sunscreen is probably better
    2016-06-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

USING baby products for a different purpose aside from babies is a commonly used hack. Baby oil can double as a makeup brush cleaner, baby wipes can help remove makeup in a pinch, and diaper rash cream has proven to be the antidote to various skin ailments. It can even work as a face mask.

There’s apparently another baby product we should all be using — sunscreen. According to Marie Claire, adults with sensitive skin can also use baby sunscreen since they both contain zinc as their active ingredient. “This physical sunscreen ingredient helps the lotion sit on the surface of the skin and not get absorbed through the skin, which is why it’s safe for babies,” Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi of Capital Laser & Skin Care told Marie Claire. “The only difference between the baby formulations and the adult version is the cosmetic ‘elegance’ of the product.” This means that adult chemical sunscreens contain ingredients that prevent the white finish zinc can cause.

Chemical sunscreens typically include ingredients such as oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, and octinoxate, while physical sunscreens, also known as mineral or all-natural sunscreens, contain zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide. Studies show some of the chemical ingredients may cause skin allergies or mess with hormones.

So, even if you may have to deal with your skin having a ghastly glow, it might just be a safer choice overall. Plus, with the baby physical sunscreens, you’ll be able to save some dough, as they are much less expensive than many of the adult all-natural ones.(SD-Agencies)
