A cultural week highlighting Argentinian culture, including tango, soccer, films, food and wine, will kick off at Mission Hills in Longhua New Area from June 18 to 26.

    It was sponsored by the Mission Hills Group and the Argentina Consulate in Guangzhou to promote cultural exchanges between China and Argentina.

    A tango performance will be the highlight of the week with a free open class at the Mission Hills Mall on June 25. An international tango dance competition will be held there June 26.

    Argentina is also a nation with soccer with stars like Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona and Sergio Aguero. A soccer tournament will be held at the Mission Hills Sports Park on June 25 and 26.

    The organizers are recruiting participants for the tango competition and soccer tournament, offering prizes ranging from a free trip to South America and the Antarctic, worth 200,000 yuan, to Mission Hills Hotel coupons, free tickets to the Mission Hills Sports Park, and Argentine beef and wine. Applications should be sent before June 8.

    The free trip includes: a business class ticket to Buenos Aires and a luxury liner’s trip from Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, to the Antarctic.

    The cultural week also features an Argentine photo show and free screenings of Oscar-winning Argentine films.
