THREE suspects, including a Didi driver, were arrested for involvement in the drug trade, the Longgang police said Wednesday. On June 6 night, the Pinghu Police Station received a clue, suggesting a drug deal would take place at a hotel Tuesday morning. Police caught a suspect, identified as Zou, and seized 10 grams of methamphetamine and 1,600 yuan (US$244). Police then detained a suspect surnamed Liu, who was waiting in a car outside the hotel.
Liu was a Didi driver, from the same hometown as Zou, but living in Dongguan, a city north of Shenzhen. Liu sometimes took some drugs with Zou. An investigation showed Liu found a buyer who wanted to pay 1,200 yuan for 10 grams of methamphetamine. On Monday night, Liu drove Zou to Dongguan and Pinghu for two drug deals. The two were caught when they completed the two deals. When police learned the two had another drug deal, they waited at the hotel and arrested a drug user who came at around 6 a.m. (Han Ximin)
