    Summer-themed paintings

    More than 30 summer-themed paintings created by Chinese artists are on display. The exhibits are selected from 4,000 items collected by the museum over the past 40 years.

    Janine Rewell

    The exhibition presents a collection of Janine Rewell’s work done over the past several years, showing the audience the breadth and variety of the modern illustration sector.

    Fashion exhibition

    “The Future of Fashion Is Now” exhibition aims to introduce trends in the forefront of fashion design. It showcases works by 35 designers from 13 countries. The exhibition explores the latest development in contemporary fashion design in four aspects: materials, the human figure, new values in the fashion system, and the interaction between fashion and society.

    Dates: Until July 31

    Two exhibitions

    Glass pieces on loan from the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague and cultural relics on loan from six museums in Sichuan Province are on display at the Shenzhen Museum. The glass show offers a thoughtful, expressive, and utterly breathtaking exploration of glassmaking in Europe from the 4th century B.C. to the present day. The Han Dynasty relics feature a spectacular selection of tomb tiles, bronzeware and pottery figurines.

    Tapas & wine party

    What’s the perfect party for hot weather? C&G presents the Spanish Tapas & Wine Party on Saturday. Pablo, C&G’s chef from Madrid, will serve Iberian ham on site. Each ticket covers tapas, pincho, Iberian ham, Spanish red wine and paella.

    Charlie and Adrian

    Decaying Matters was formed by Charlie Utter in 2010 as a way to express storytelling through music. In 2013 Adrian Blackstock brought his groovy rhythms and amazing vocals to complete this original folk rock duo. Come see them perform live at Frankie’s Nanshan.

    Art by Japanese architect

    Japanese architect Kengo Kuma will display his interior design and jewelry design at ONES in Qianhai. One special exhibit is a carpet made up of silk and wool, which looks like moss. Kuma is a professor at the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of Tokyo. As a professor at the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of Tokyo, he runs diverse research projects concerning architecture, urbanity and design within his own laboratory, Kuma Lab.

    Environment monitoring

    German journalist Ulrike Reinhard and Indian engineer Mrutyunjay Mishra will come to the Chaihuo Maker Space. Reinhard built a school in an Indian village, the first rural maker space in India. In this place, they let local people access technology, and guide to solve local problems. At the Shenzhen event, Reinhard will give a presentation on this project. After that, Mishra will host a workshop and guide participants to build an environmental monitoring kit.
