    kāiguà

    Meaning: Originally used by computer game players, this term refers to using additional apps to help one excel at playing certain games. This practice is in fact cheating, therefore it's forbidden in online gaming. Now, the term is used in a more general sense to marvel at unbelievable feats, not necessarily scored by cheating. In this sense, the term has a touch of joking, as if saying someone is helped by a mysterious force.

    A: 昨天的篮球赛你们队赢了吗？

    Zuótiān de lánqíu sài nǐmen duì yíng le ma?

    Did your team win yesterday's basketball game?

    B: 没有。我们正常发挥，但对手开挂了。

    Méiyǒu。Wǒmen zhèngcháng fāhuī, dàn duìshǒu kāiguà le。

    No. We did okay, but our opponents did unbelievably great.

    A: 谁表现最佳？

    Shuí biǎoxiàn zuìjiā?

    Who's the best?

    B: 他们的后卫叫麦克的，投中了十个三分球。

    Tāmen de hòuwèi jiào màikè de, tóuzhòng le shígè sānfēnqíu。

    Their point guard whose name is Mike nailed ten three-pointers.
