AUSTRALIAN mother Lisa Donovan has no fear when it comes to letting a giant huntsman spider crawl all over her.
In fact, the spider is Donovan’s friend and companion — a pet called Cuddles. In a video posted to YouTube, the giant grey huntsman can be seen crawling on Donovan and exploring her surroundings before returning to the lid of her cage.
Donovan, who lives in Hervey Bay, Queensland, said the spider is “full grown” at 18 months old.
She said, “She’s moving a bit slower these days, and I thought I’d let her out for a stroll … on my hand.”
The grey spotted creature that has a distinctive brown stripe down its abdomen can be seen moving carefully across Donovan’s hand.
Extending its long legs it feels around her skin cautiously before moving from the lid of her cage and onto Donovan’s wrist.
Cuddles then makes her way back onto the lid reaching out to get back into her enclosure.
The mother-of-three said she loved nature as a child and that when she moved to Australia almost nine years ago with her husband she was blown away by the types of insects and spiders she saw.
Donovan added, “I love a lot of insects but I especially love spiders.”(SD-Agencies)
