HOLLYWOOD royalty descended on Singapore for the “Inferno” red carpet event at the ArtScience Museum on Tuesday.
Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Ron Howard were joined by renowned Bollywood thespian Irrfan Kahn at the red carpet and photo call for the upcoming release of their highly anticipated film “Inferno.”
It is the third in a series of films named after and adapted from the best-selling books by Dan Brown, including “Angels and Demons” (2009), and “The Da Vinci Code” (2006), all starring Hanks and directed by Howard.
Though it’s the third instalment in the franchise, “Inferno” is based on the fourth book in Brown’s set of novels. The third, “The Lost Symbol,” was abandoned in 2013 after some initial development.
“Inferno” sees Howard back at the helm and finds Hollywood’s favorite go-to guy Hanks returning as the franchise’s hero symbology professor Robert Langdon.
Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia and must team up with Dr. Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones) to try and recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe, against the clock, to foil a deadly global plot inspired by Dante’s “Inferno.” Khan portrays Harry “The Provost” Sims, head of a secretive organization.
“Inferno” will open worldwide in late October.(SD-Agencies)
