    Creative workshop

    The OCT Art Salon is inviting 15 pairs of parents and kids aged between 7 and 15 to create artwork at a creative workshop next week. Attendees should sign up at WeChat (oct-and) before June 22. Attendees should bring a cardigan, sweater or knitted cloth.

    Time: 2-5:30 p.m., June 25

    Fee: 80 yuan (1 adult + 1 kid)

    Free photography class

    Children living in Shenzhen urban villages are invited to join free photography classes run by U.S. teacher Marco Harith Flagg (马可) from Shenzhen Middle School and a few Chinese photographers and designers.

    The project aims to inspire children to love and observe life. Children don’t have to bring their own cameras since the teachers will provide them. If you have spare cameras to share with the children, you can contact Ms. Ming Xinrong (159-1411-6445). She will return them to you after use.

    Time: Every Saturday afternoon starting June 25

    Chinese artist Mao Lizi is exhibiting his paintings and design works at ONES.

    Mao was born in 1950 in Shanghai and has worked and shown his paintings across the globe. He was a founding member of the Chinese avant-garde art scene and continues to inspire people with his bold paintings and vivid style.

    Working across multiple disciplines, Mao is known for his paintings, design work and architecture. Mao’s powerful paintings focus on the vastness of space and convey intense movement and emotion in both brush strokes and color choices.

    Dates: Until July 15
