幼驯染
    2016-June-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Meaning:

A Japanese word in origin, this term is popular among young people, especially fans of Japanese manga. It refers to childhood friends, who usually live in the same block and go to school together. Sharing childish secrets, people involved in such relationships can be from both sexes. In some Japanese comics, the childhood friends often move on and forget about their past until one day they reunite as grownups and develop a romantic relationship.

    Example:

    A: 小马和小丽怎么那么快就好上了?

Xiǎomǎ hé xiǎolì zěnme nàmekuài jìu hǎoshàng le?

Xiaoma and Xiaoli fell for each other so fast!

    B: 其实他俩是幼驯染恋人。他们幼儿园和小学都是同

    学,后来小丽一家移民去加拿大了。

Qíshì tāliǎ shì yòuxùnrǎn liànrén。Tāmen yòuéryuán hé xiǎoxué dōu shì tóngxué, hòulái xiǎolì yījiā yímín qù jiānádà le。

In fact they are childhood-friends-turned-lovers. They were classmates in kindergarten and primary school, but Xiaoli migrated to Canada with her family.
