Iron sculptures by Ren Rong

    More than 50 iron sculptures, collages and paper-cuttings created by Ren Rong are on display.

    Born in Nanjing in 1960, Ren incorporates ancient Chinese characters, paper cutting, and shadow puppets in his work.

    Ren has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Marta Herford. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including “Big Family” sold at Sotheby’s New York “Contemporary Art Asia” in 2008 for US$67,000.

    He studied at the Nanjing University of the Arts and Kunst Akademie Düsseldorf. He became the guest professor of Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg in 2000.
