Things to know about Metro Line 11
    2016-June-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    It’s fast

TRAINS running on Metro Line 11 can reach a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour, the fastest in China’s Metro system. The eight carriages, including two business carriages, can carry 2,564 passengers, equivalent to 32 buses. Passengers getting off the train can reach Terminal 3 of Shenzhen International Airport in three minutes by foot.

    Interchanges

The whole line will have 18 stations with 10 interchange stations, five of which will be put into operation at the end of the year when Metro lines 7 and 9 are put into service.

Passengers can change to Shekou Line and Longgang Line at Futian Station and to Lines 7 and 9 at Chegongmiao Station.

Ticket buyers can put four coins into the slot at once when buying a ticket at vending machines.

    Fare system

The Metro line will adopt a two-tiered fare system for six regular carriages and two business-class carriages. The trip from Futian to the airport costs 7 yuan (US$1.05).

Riders need to pay 2 to 10 yuan. Business-class carriages have starting prices of 6 yuan and a maximum price of 30 yuan.

Those who transfer to Metro Line 11 from other lines and want to take business carriages need to buy the orange tokens before taking the train.

Shenzhentong card users need to scan their cards at reading stands installed on the platforms before taking business carriages.

    Check-in service

Air passengers taking Metro Line 11 can check in at 19 self-service machines in Futian Station, Chegongmiao Station, Houhai Station and Qianhaiwan Station.

All domestic flights departing from Shenzhen, except for flights by Spring Airlines, can be checked in at the four stations.

Shenzhen Airlines and China Southern Airlines have their own check-in machines for passengers.

Shenzhen International Airport installed eight screens to display flight information at the four stations, allowing travelers to update flight arrival and departure information in time.

Passengers who have completed the check-in service and only have hand luggage can directly go to departure halls at the Shenzhen airport for security checks after they arrive at the Airport Station of Line 11.

Passengers who have luggage to check in still have to go to counters at the airport to drop their luggage.

Also, because counters at the airport stop the check-in service 45 minutes before a flight, passengers in need may complete their check-in at the four Metro stations before taking the Metro to the airport.

    Toilets in paid areas

Chegongmian Station will have toilets in paid areas. Some nursing rooms were built at major stations including Futian Station, Houhai Station and Qianhaiwan Station.
