“MR. Zhuang,” a play directed by award-winning director Huang Kai, is now being staged in Avignon, France, as part of the Festival D’ Avignon. The play will be staged in the festival’s Off section 25 times between July 1 and 30. Telling classic Chinese fables like “Zhuangzhou Dreams of Butterfly,” the play features the culture of Taoism in China. The play is produced by the Shenzhen Culture Alliance and the Shenzhen Dramatists Association, and director Huang is a winner of the Golden Lion award of the National Drama Culture Award. The Festival D’ Avignon consists of two parts, In and Off. The section Off is an original cultural experience, a precious testimony to the vitality of the living art.
