A DOG lover splashed out £2,000 (US$2,596) on a country club wedding ceremony for her two Shih Tzus complete with a canine celebrity guest from the British show “TOWIE.”
The pampered pooches woofed their vows in front of 17 doggy guests before tucking into a wedding breakfast of bone shaped biscuits and canine cupcakes.
Elvis and Bella, known collectively as “Belvis,” fell in love at first sight in 2014 when owner Alma Padillia, from Radcliffe, Bury, England, introduced them — and they quickly had two litters of puppies.
The dogs are so close that Padillia decided it was time for them to tie the knot and she spent eight months planning the perfect day for her pets.
The 41-year-old found the “ideal” wedding venue in the Dogs Country Club in Lowton, Warrington, following a two-month search and then organized a three-tiered wedding cake made of dog food for the happy couple.
She then planned a lavish spread of tempting treats and even organized personalized “doggie bags” for their four-legged friends to take away.
Padillia, who spent more than £2,000 on the wedding said, “I knew the two had to get married after realizing they are destined to spend their lives together.
“I got married in a civil ceremony and wanted the dogs to have the wedding I couldn’t have. Bella and I chose her wedding dress and everything else together.
“It was a beautiful day but very stressful for me because I had to make sure my babies had their dream doggy wedding.”
More than 70 guests attended the wedding, with some coming from as far afield as Scotland.
Snezhana White, owner and co-founder of the Dogs Country Club on Slag Lane, said, “Congratulations Elvis and Bella. It was a wonderful ceremony and everyone was really excited to be hosting our first doggy wedding.
“I am really proud of how the event went — it really was an amazing wedding. People came from far and wide to attend and there were so many dogs at the ceremony.”(SD-Agencies)
