Paintings by Spanish artists
    2016-July-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Five artists from Spain are exhibiting water color and ink paintings at the Shenzhen Fine Art Institute.

Ana Laza and Javier Marin have been based in Shenzhen for two months and their paintings show the Shenzhen urban landscape. Lily Chu, Marco Antonio Cobo and Muguel Angel Sanchez are friends of Lana and Marin.

Marin currently lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico. During three decades of work, Marin has developed a distinguished career as a visual artist that includes more than 90 solo exhibitions and 200 collectives in South America, the United States, Europe, and Asia. His work forms part of important public and private collections in Mexico and abroad. He has also carried out projects and exhibitions in public spaces.

He has been invited to major international events, including the Exhibition for the World Art Treasures, the opening exhibition at the China Art Museum, Shanghai (2012), and Venice Art Biennale, which he has participated twice: in Larga Ascencione just in front of Piazza San Marco (2001) and Sala San Tommaso, Campo dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo (2003).

Marin has received various prizes and forms of distinction, including the first prize in the Third Beijing International Art Biennale (2008) and the opportunity to create the main altarpiece and chancel of the Cathedral of Zacatecas (2010), in which he competed with other artists to be awarded the commission.
