Chaihuo’s makers in residence Juanjo Tara from Spain and Rewant Prakash from India will share their creative ideas, previous projects and experiences in making/creating at a meetup event Friday night.

    Tara studied computer system engineering in Madrid and Oslo. After working for three years with Arduino.cc, he decided to create the first bio-payment platform (biopaydev.com) using an implanted chip. As part of the Bionyfiken Swedish biohacking community, he traveled to different countries to organize workshops and events.

    At Chaihuo, Tara is creating and developing a new implantable device as part of his new project called Dsruptive (www.dsruptive.com).

    Besides bio-payment, the makers at Chaihuo are also exploring how to apply assistive technology to make life better for people with mental disorders.

    Prakash was very involved in projection-mapping projects, but during his semester abroad in Berlin, Prakash was inspired by the migrant crisis and used interactive tools to analyze politics and reach out to the common people. While studying in New York, he became interested in assistive technology and is now working on creating assistive technology for people with mental disorders.
