Eason Chan returns with 2 shows
    2016-July-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Hong Kong pop singer Eason Chan will give two concerts at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center.

One of Hong Kong’s leading male singers of the late 1990s, Chan has been praised by Time magazine as a pioneer of the new generation of Cantopop. He is considered by some to be Hong Kong’s new “god of song” after Jacky Cheung.

Critics and fellow musicians have praised Chan as one of the top singers of his generation. Since the beginning of his career, Chan has been described as a breath of fresh air in the Hong Kong music scene.

Chan studied music and architecture at college in Britain, during which time he got a Grade-8 vocal certificate from the Royal Academy of Music. Chan returned to Hong Kong to participate in the 1995 New Talent Singing Awards Competition where he won first place. Immediately after his victory, Capital Artists signed him, ending his architecture career and launching his career in music.

Over the last 10 years, Chan emerged as the leading male singer of his generation, fulfilling his role as an innovator and leader, winning an array of prestigious awards. Chan has also been successful with his work in Mandopop.
