DAVID KOECHNER will star in “Bernard and Huey,” a movie based on the characters from satirist and screenwriter Jules Feiffer’s cartoon strip. The “Anchorman” alum will play Huey, one-half of the eponymous pair.
Feiffer wrote the script for the movie that is based on his comic strip characters, who first appeared in the “Village Voice” in 1957, with Feiffer later continuing his work for Playboy magazine in the 1980s. Dan Mirvish will direct the film, which follows two old friends and a woman who complicates their life.
“I have been a fan of Jules Feiffer’s ‘Bernard and Huey’ cartoons since my youth. I am excited to get the chance to bring a comic strip, middle-aged superhero to life,” said Koechner. “I’m very happy to work with the brilliant and curvaceous Mirvish, as well.”
