‘BratWurst Bot’ cooks and serves sausages
    2016-07-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The BratWurst Bot is a one-armed sausage chef, which can take your order, have a chat with you, cook you a sausage and even serve it to you.

The robotic chef was created by Forschungszentrum Informatik (FZI), a technology company based in Germany, in the hopes of showing how flexible modern robots have become.

The BratWurst Bot is made up of common off-the-shelf* parts, run by a flexible, adaptive software package that can interact with customers.

The design is based on a common robot arm, with one standard parallel* gripper* hand, and a standard pair of grill tongs.

The Bratwurst Bot is fitted with two cameras, which locate the sausages on the tray or grill, and monitor their color to decide when to flip them.

At the robot’s launch at the 53rd Stable Guard Party in Berlin, it managed to serve 200 sausages.(SD-Agencies)
