Join local charity organization A Heart for China to spend time with children at Huayang Special School (华阳特殊儿童康复中心) this Sunday in Longhua New Area. Volunteers are welcome to bring gifts, cookies and small boxes of milk and cheer up the special children at the school where most of the kids are physically or intellectually handicapped. Volunteers are encouraged to sing and dance or play with the children.

Ancient porcelain
Relics provided by Guangdong Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art and Macao Museum are on display. The 180 exhibits showcase ancient pottery and porcelain and made-for-export porcelain with designs commissioned by European buyers.

Rare bird photos

Choir
Cantemus Regensburg Choir from Regensburg, a historical city alongside the Rhine in Germany, will give a concert. The choir was founded in 1954 and has grown into a large chorus of 700 members.

Free English movie salon
“Million Dollar Baby” (2004) will be shown free of admission. The American sports drama was directed, co-produced and scored by Clint Eastwood. Starring Eastwood, Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman, the film is about an under-appreciated boxing trainer, the mistakes that haunt him from his past, and his quest for atonement by helping an underdog amateur boxer achieve her dream of becoming a professional.

Teatro Plus from Spain will present the play “Wasted Time” in Shenzhen. A new father is a normal person with a regular schedule. Cat adoption day
Homeless cats, collected by volunteers of the local cat-caring website szcat.org, are waiting for pet lovers to take them home from an adoption event Sunday. All cats will be available to new owners free of charge. Organized by szcat.org, the event encourages people not to abandon their pets even if they move out of the city. At the event, new cat owners will be given free cat food provided by Nature Bridge.

Louvre replica
The Louvre, the world’s largest museum and French historic monument, is exhibiting prints reproduced from classic paintings and sculpture replicas. With the authorization of the Louvre Museum and the National Museum Union of France, the exhibition breaks the norms of traditional viewing, and creatively applies new VR technology.

‘Summer Triangle’
Shaped by historical and cultural contexts, the image of a city constantly changes depending on the aspects reflected and narratives constructed by the mass media. In the exhibition “Summer Triangle,” OCAT Shenzhen presents artworks of Jon Rafman, Adrian Wong and Xie Lantian. Stemming from the concept of “constellation,” the exhibition takes Hong Kong as a case study and explores how the cultural parallaxes in mass media construct the identity of a city.
