Xue Changrui of China competes in the men’s pole vault final in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday. Chinese athletes broke their own records in both the men’s pole vault and the women’s discus throw. Xue earned 6th place in the men’s pole vault final, the best result for a Chinese athlete in major world pole vault competitions.
