He Chao fails to advance at men’s 3m springboard
    2016-August-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

KAZAN world’s champion diver He Chao of China failed to make the men’s 3m springboard semis at the Rio Olympics on Monday.

He, who made mistakes in his second and third dives, collected 380.35 points to finish only 21st among 29 divers in the preliminary round.

“I am surprised about this result. I prepared four years for this competition and to end it like this, I feel very disappointed about this outcome,” He said.

He only scored 27.75 points on his third dive.

“It was the wind that really affected the start of my dive. We didn’t train in these kinds of very windy conditions before at all,” he said.

Another Chinese diver, Cao Yuan, displayed consistency in big winds and ranked first with 498.70 points.
