Chinese-American singer-songwriter Joanna Wang will perform a solo concert next week at the Shenzhen Poly Theater.

    Her debut album, “Start From Here,” was released in January 2008 as a double album, with one half in English and the other in Chinese. The album reached No. 1 in Taiwan and was popular throughout Southeast Asia. Her second album “Joanna” was released in January 2009.

    Wang was influenced by The Beatles, Queen, Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman, Yoeko Kurahashi and video game soundtracks, most notably those from “Castlevania,” “Zelda” and “Mario”
