The Airlander 10 hybrid airship makes its maiden flight at Cardington Airfield in Britain on Wednesday. The giant blimp-like Airlander 10 spent 20 minutes in the air, and landed safely at the airfield north of London. Part airship, part helicopter, part plane, the 91-meter-long aircraft is about 15 meters longer than the world’s biggest passenger planes. The Airlander, made by British company Hybrid Air Vehicles, has four engines and no internal structure. The company says it can reach 4,900 meters, travel at up to 148 kph and stay aloft for up to two weeks. It can also carry up to 10 metric tons of passengers or cargo. SD-Agencies
