Chinese film month woos local fans
    2016-August-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE award ceremony for the “10 Best Chinese-language Movies of 2015” chosen by industry insiders on the Chinese mainland as well as in Taiwan and Hong Kong will be held at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center on Oct. 27.

“Mr. Six,” “Mountains May Depart” and “The Assassin” have been named the top 3 of the list, which also includes “Wolf Totem,” “The Dead End,” “Our Times,” “The Coffin in the Mountain,” “Monkey King: The Hero Is Back,” “Monster Hunt” and “Little Big Master.”

“Co-productions by Chinese mainland companies and those based in Hong Kong and Taiwan have become a major force in the market,” said Zhang Sitao, one of the officials on the organizing committee of the event. “They have also made up a large part of the winners.”

New film screenings, Internet film screenings, fan meetings and a Chinese and Asian film seminar will be held along with the award ceremony in October.

Sponsored by the Taiwan and Hong Kong Film Research Society and Chinese Film Critics’ Society, the award was first given out in 2013.
