A WOMAN and a man were arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill the woman’s husband in Guangming New Area in May, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday.

    The woman, surnamed Zhang, 24, called to tell local police that her husband, identified as Lou, 28, had killed himself at home in Gongming Subdistrict after having a quarrel with her May 2.

    Police officers became suspicious about Lou’s death after their preliminary investigation. At first, they couldn’t understand why Zhang was in a hurry to incinerate Lou’s body.

    Three days later, Zhang and her extramarital lover, surnamed Pan, were arrested under suspicion of conspiring to kill Lou.

    According to police, Zhang had planned to kill Lou on May 2 when Lou was having drinks with friends at home. She allegedly asked Pan, whom she had met over QQ and become romantically involved, to kill her husband. Pan bought a knife and traveled from Dongguan to Zhang’s home that day.

    Zhang allegedly had left home with the door unlocked to let Pan enter the apartment to kill Lou that night. After Lou’s death, Zhang orchestrated the suicide cover to protect herself and Pan.
