Registration for 3 marathons open

    The Bao’an International Marathon will be held Dec. 4 and will use a lottery system to fill spots. Runners can register at www.baoan-marathon.com between Sept. 12-30.

    The entry fees for Chinese, including Hong Kongers, Taiwanese and Macao citizens, are 150 yuan per person for full-length (42.195 km) runners, 100 yuan for half-length (21.0975) runners and 80 yuan for 5 km runners. For foreign nationals, the fees are US$35 for full-length and half-length runners and US$25 for 5 km runners.

    Full-length runners must be over 20 to register; half-length runners, over 16; 5 km runners, over 13. The routes will start at the Bao’an District Government.

    Meanwhile, the Longgang Half Marathon, to be held Oct. 29, is still receiving applications at www.lgmarathon.com.cn until Sept. 10. The routes will start at the Longgang District Government.

    The entry fees for Chinese and foreigners are 180 yuan per person for half-length (21.0975) runners, 150 yuan for 10 km runners and 100 yuan for 3.5 km runners. Half-length runners must be over 20 to register; 10 km runners, over 16; 3.5 km runners, over 10.

    The Nanshan Half Marathon will be held Nov. 27 and will start at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center. Although the individual category application is already full, runners can still apply for the family run category from Sept. 21 to Oct. 15. The 3 km family run applicants should be between 6 and 60 years old and the registration fee is 100 yuan per person. Each group should have up to four members and children should not outnumber adults in each group.(Cao Zhen)
