    BY2, a Singaporean duo based in Taiwan, will perform Saturday. Consisting of twin sisters, Miko Bai and Yumi Bai, the duo gained attention at the start of their career with their first two studio albums, “NC 16” and “Twins,” but it was not until 2010 when they released their third studio album, “Grown Up” that they gained significant popularity.

    Beyond Frozen Point

    In collaboration with Norway’s largest film festival, the Tromso International Film Festival, the second Beyond Frozen Point Film Festival is being held at Yuezhong Museum of Historical Images in Luohu District. This year, the focus is climate change, responding to the urgent global issue. Movies from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Greenland will be shown with English and Chinese subtitles. Entry is free but viewers need to sign up by calling 8306-4687 or on WeChat (YZMoHI).

    Puppet shows

    State Puppet Theater Varna from Bulgaria will present puppet shows centering on a forest party this weekend at Nanshan Cultural and Sports Center.

    Free documentary

    Taking place in Calcutta’s Chinatown, “From Border to Border,” with English and Chinese subtitles, recalls the complicated relationship that continues to divide Chinese immigrants and mainstream Indian communities. Supposedly marked by social exclusion and self-segregation, the Chinese community has remained a mystery despite generations of living in India.

    ‘New Creatures’

    Forty contemporary art projects by 37 artists from eight countries and regions are exhibited. Themed “New Creatures,” the exhibition presents new art and designs that use materials in an unconventional or experimental way in the form of paintings, pictures, sculptures, videos and installations.

    Renoir artwork replicas

    Reproductions of French impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s works are on display at the “Meet Renoir Under Olive Trees” exhibition. The original works were painted in the last 20 years of the artist’s life, which were spent at Les Collettes, a farm full of olive trees.
