TRAINS on Metro lines 7 and 9, which are estimated to open Oct. 28, started a trial run Friday, marking the final push toward official operation.
Line 7, running 30.17 kilometers from Nanshan’s Xili to Tai’an in Luohu, and the 25.38-km Line 9, from Nanshan’s Hongshuwan South to Wenjin in Luohu, will bring the city’s Metro network to 286 kilometers upon completion.
The trains will operate between 6:30 a.m. and 11 p.m.
“The facilities like screen doors, turnstiles and self-service topping up machines have been installed, and interior and exterior decorations at the stations have all been completed,” Shenzhen Metro Group said in a press release yesterday.
During the initial opening stage, the trains will run at 10-minute intervals, which will be shorter as more trains are put into service.
Line 7 has 28 stations including 10 interchange stations along the V-shaped route linking Xili Reservoir in Nanshan to Tai’an in Luohu.
Passengers can transfer to Line 2 at Antuo Hill Station and Huaqiang North Station, Line 3 at Shixia, Huaxin and Tianbei stations, Line 4 at Fumin Station, Line 5 at Xili and Tai’an stations, Line 11 and Line 1 at Chegongmiao Station, and Line 9 at Chegongmiao and Hongling North stations.
Line 9 runs eastward from Hongshuwan South in Nanshan to Wenjin in Luohu. It has 22 stations including six transfer stations.
Passengers can transfer to Line 11 at Hongshuwan South Station, Line 1, 7 and 11 at Chegongmiao Station, Line 2 at Jingtian Station and Line 4 at Shangmeilin Station. They can transfer to Line 7 at Hongling North Station and Line 3 at Hongling Station.
