    New single

LADY Gaga released her new single “Perfect Illusion” on Thursday night. At the iHeartRadio Music Summit last month, Gaga explained the inspiration behind the track. She said the song is “about modern ecstasy ... We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it ... I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”

“Perfect Illusion” was produced by Gaga with Mark Ronson, Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker and Blood Pop, who’s known for his work with Justin Bieber and Grimes, among others. It’s the singer’s first solo release in almost three years, since 2013’s “Artpop” album.

    Deauville fest

IRA SACHS’ “Little Men” won the top prize at the Deauville Film Festival. The film starring Greg Kinnear bowed at Sundance in January.

The jury, headed by former French culture minister Frederic Mitterand, took the unusual step of awarding two second-place prizes, honoring Matt Ross’ Cannes Un Certain Regard directing prize winner “Captain Fantastic” and Todd Solondz’s “Weiner-Dog.” Anna Rose Holmer’s drama “The Fits” took the critics prize from a jury of French journalists. Deauville is a yearly film festival devoted to American cinema taking place since 1975.

    Huading Awards

“WOLF Warriors” became the biggest winner at the Huading Awards for Chinese cinema Wednesday, pocketing five prizes including best new director and best screenplay. The film tells the tales of ordinary people fighting for their country and people.

Guan Hu was awarded the best director award for “Mr. Six.” Chen Jianbin was named the best actor for his role in “A Fool,” and Song Jia won the best actress award for her role in martial arts movie “The Master.” (SD-Agencies)
