Mother kept son’s corpse at home for 8 years
    2016-09-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A MOTHER kept the rotting body of her son at home for up to eight years after his death in a grisly echo of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film Psycho.

In the film, murderous Norman Bates keeps his mother’s body at home in his attic after killing her and her lover.

The body of the son was only discovered when his mother was taken to the hospital after a fall. A relative returned to the house, in Brooklyn, New York, and found the remains before calling police.

The man was a former cab driver, and was terminally ill when he died aged in his 50s of natural causes, the New York Daily News reported.

The man had not been seen by some family members for about 20 years. His car, a brown Ford Explorer, had been parked in the drive for years and not moved.

A neighbor told the paper the woman was reclusive. He said, “She never said hello. She [was] always walking down the street with a grocery bag.

“She would walk looking down. Something about her always seemed a little weird.”

The city’s medical examiner was tasked with determining the cause of death from the man’s skeletal remains.
