    “拆” means to “tear down, dismantle,” and “二代” means “second generation.” “拆” here in this context is short for “拆迁,” which means to “relocate.” Similar to such phrases as “富二代” (those from wealthy families) and “官二代” (children of officials), this term refers to those young people whose parents became rich overnight because real estate developers have to pay them huge amounts of relocation fees to tear down their family homes to make way for new housing estates. Many relocated families choose new apartments on the original venue over cash.
