TWO dogs at a U.S. animal rescue shelter have become an inseparable pair despite a significant difference in their sizes. CC may be half the size of her playmate Chewbacca, but the pair have been inseparable ever since they found themselves in the same home at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa years ago. Their incredible bond was almost broken when their owners had a baby who developed an allergy to dogs — threatening to split up the twosome for good. Chewbacca and CC were taken to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, where the staff quickly fell in love with the two dogs who couldn’t live apart from one another. “Pretty much every time we walk by their kennel, CC is either sitting on Chewy or draped over him or curled up against him,” spokesperson Jessica Jorgenson told The Dodo. “Chewy, for his part, doesn’t mind at all. They both like being close to each other.” CC and Chewbacca never leave each other’s side. During nap time, CC climbs right on top of Chewy and, using his fur as a pillow, falls fast asleep. The pair are always together when they’re taken out for walks, and sit “against each other” even in the car, volunteers at the shelter revealed. Animal Rescue League of Iowa shared a picture on Facebook last week of their “resident odd couple,” showing CC nestled in her usual spot on top of Chewbacca. “Chewbacca and little CC are pretty much always cuddling when we walk by their kennel — and that usually means CC is somehow draped over Chewy,” the post read. “These two love going on walks and car rides and being involved in whatever you’re doing. They’ve lived with cats and dogs and would be a wonderful fit for a relaxed home. “Their bond is undeniable, so they must be adopted together. What a perfect pair to share your life with!” The post was shared more than a thousand times and within just four days the cute couple found out they would be together for life. Amber Wiley adopted the pair, bringing them to a home with two more dogs and three pet pigs to call their pals. (SD-Agencies) |
