    Chuck Lorre is joining the reboot craze.

    The prolific producer behind CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” and “Mom” is teaming with Amazon to develop an event series based on “Bonfire of the Vanities.”

    Sources say the project, which hails from Warner Bros. TV where Lorre is under a rich overall deal, is being eyed as an eight-episode series, though it is currently only in development. The drama, which has been in the works for months, was initially shopped to cable and streaming outlets.

    Margaret Nagle is set to pen the script and exec-produce alongside Lorre. Author and political reporter David Corn will serve as a consultant.
