Bijia Mountain public art week
    2016-October-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Paris-based Polish new media designer and intermedia artist Milosh Luczynski will collaborate with Hong Kong sound artist Dickson Dee to present two concerts this weekend at Bijia Mountain Park, as part of the park’s public art week. Entry is free.

Luczynski mixes performance with multimedia installations, video and graphics along with electronic music. He collaborates with contemporary composers, poets, visual and multimedia artists. He also works as an artistic director and event planner on international projects all over the world.

Dickson Dee, whose real name is Li Chin-sung, has been engaged in the experimental music industry for more than 25 years. His career started from setting up independent label Noise Asia in Hong Kong in 1989. Besides running the label, he is a sound artist, composer, producer and curator. He has made great contributions to the development of experimental music in China.

After years of artistic cooperation, Luczynski and Dee decided to merge their expertise, experience and skills, to create a new synergy in the field of sound art. The two concerts this weekend will provide a new and unique approach to visual arts and multimedia performance. On Oct. 22, the duo will present “Pattern,” a 3-D audiovisual show with trees and grass as the backdrop.

On Oct. 23, singer Sainkho Namtchylak will be featured at the concert “I Am a Lonely Soul.” Namtchylak is a singer originally from Tuva, an autonomous republic in the Russian Federation just north of Mongolia. She has an exceptional voice, proficient in overtone singing. Her music encompasses avant-jazz, electronica, modern composition and Tuvan influences.

During the public art week from Oct. 22 to 29, trees and corridors in the park will be decorated with colorful art creations. Installations inspired by children’s paintings and created by local designers will be displayed Oct. 23.

    Time: 7:30-8:30, Oct. 22 (“Pattern”), Oct. 23 (“I Am a Lonely Soul”)

Venue: Bijia Mountain Park, Sungang Road West, Futian District (福田区笋岗西路笔架山公园)

Metro: Line 3, Huaxin Station (华新站), Exit D and then take a taxi(Cao Zhen)
