U.S. documentary “Sustainable Table” will be shown at Se Artspace on Oct. 25 free of admission. Attendees should sign up at the organizer’s WeChat (ecocinema).
Over nine months, director Mischa Hedges and his crew traveled the west coast of the United States to learn about the food system. While interviewing farmers, agricultural experts, nutritionists and activists, Hedges and his team learned that the standard methods of producing food do not take environmental or human health costs into consideration.
They also spoke with farmers who are practicing sustainable methods of producing food, and learned of the many alternatives to conventional agriculture.
The result is a 52-minute documentary that takes an unadulterated look into the food you eat, and how you can make a difference to your health and the environment by the food choices you make. What’s on your plate? Where does it come from? What effects does it have on the environment and your body? What can you do to help?
