Ukulele concert
Ukulele players, Kimo Hussey from Hawaii and David Chen from Taiwan, will give a free concert Saturday afternoon. Just show up. No registration.

Cat adoption day
Homeless cats, collected by volunteers of the local website szcat.org, are waiting for pet lovers to take them home from an adoption event Sunday in Buji. All cats will be available to new owners free of charge. Organized by szcat.org, the event encourages people not to abandon their pets even if they move out of the city.

Maker Faire Shenzhen
The Maker Faire Shenzhen is an annual gathering for hundreds of makers to exchange ideas and display their creations. The original Maker Faire event was held in the United States in 2006, followed by more events hosted in countries across the globe. The Chaihuo Maker Space, created and sponsored by Seeed Studio in Shenzhen, has organized Maker Faire Shenzhen for the past four years. Talks, exhibitions and workshops will be held at the Maker Faire. A range of activities, such as robot combat, drone combat and other hands-on activities are scheduled.

Public art week
Paris-based Polish new media designer and intermedia artist Milosh Luczynski will collaborate with Hong Kong sound artist Dickson Dee to present two multimedia concerts at Bijia Mountain Park, as part of the park’s public art week. Entry is free. On Saturday, the duo will present “Pattern,” a 3-D audiovisual show. On Sunday, Tuvan singer Sainkho Namtchylak will be featured at the concert “I Am a Lonely Soul.” Installations inspired by children’s paintings and created by local designers will be displayed Sunday.

OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival
The OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival is finishing this weekend. Mothra from Italy (Oct. 21, 8-9 p.m.), Men I Trust from Canada (Oct. 21, 9:20-10:20 p.m.) and Sebastian Schunke Band from Germany, Uruguay, Australia (Oct. 23, 8-9:30 p.m.) will grace the stage.

Luo Zhongli
Luo Zhongli, a significant Chinese artist in both modern and contemporary art from Sichuan Province, is exhibiting his oil paintings and sculptures at the “Partita in Bashan” exhibition. His son Luo Dan is also exhibiting his oil paintings.

A multimedia display of Claude Monet’s work and the environment he lived in is being held. The exhibition features screens displaying paintings and photos, aiming to offer visitors a multi-sensory and interactive way to enjoy art.

The puppet show “Menut Cabaret” by Sola & Tully from Spain is on show now. “Menut Cabaret” tells an interesting and poetic story: Although Mina has only one hand, she learns to survive in this little world.
