B: Well, the boss generated a lot of cheers and some eye rolls when he announced his plans to pursue the Japanese market.
Note: Referring to the facial expression of raising one's eye and rolling their eyes, this term implies disagreement or disapproval. brows and When we hear something odd, jarring, shocking or disagreeable, or just plain boring, one of our reactions is that we look upward and roll our eyeball from side to side, and perhaps shrug our shoulders also. This reaction is automatic and the expression reveals either one's surprise, boredom, contempt or disapproval. People roll their eyes when they hear something mildly shocking or annoying. If they hear something really shocking, they do not roll their eyes but drop their jaws instead.
