Actress announces second marriage
    2016-October-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINESE actress Zhang Yuqi announced her second marriage yesterday, 15 months after she divorced Golden Bear award winner Chinese director Wang Quan’an.

The new couple tied the knot 70 days after they met each other, according to Zhang’s statement. Zhang did not reveal the identity of her husband.

“I didn’t plan to tell the world my life plan. But since it is now exposed to the public, I’d like to announce the news myself,” Zhang said in her statement.

Earlier in the morning, Quanminxingtan, a paparazzi blogger, posted pictures of Zhang shopping and entering a luxurious apartment in Shanghai with a man, who is identified to be a rich businessman surnamed Yuan.

“I have found my Mr. Right. We, both single at the time, fell in love 10 days after we met, and decided to get married 70 days after that. This is a romance that came at the right time, and those who believe in love are always blessed by destiny,” Zhang said.

She also posted pictures of her marriage certificates in the statement, which ended with her wish to have a quiet and peaceful life.

The 31-year-old actress, who shot to stardom in 2007 in Hong Kong director Stephen Chow’s “CJ7” and starred in films like “White Deer Plain” and “Dearest,” had a four-year marriage that lasted from 2011 to 2015 with prominent Chinese director Wang, who is 20 years older than her. Wang was arrested in September 2014 on charges of soliciting prostitutes. Zhang announced her divorce from him in July 2015.

A graduate of the Beijing Film Academy, Wang is a leading light of the sixth generation of mainland directors and is known for his touching family and societal dramas. He won the top prize at the Berlin festival in 2007 with his film “Tuya’s Marriage.”
